Physical Therapy

At Lori Kilpatrick Pediatric Therapy, our mission is to help children move, grow, and thrive at every stage of development. We provide specialized physical therapy services for infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents, tailoring treatment to meet the needs of each child and family.

Our therapists focus on improving strength, mobility, posture, balance, coordination, and independence — all through play-based, engaging approaches that empower families with strategies they can use every day.

Early Intervention (Ages 0–3)

The first three years of life are critical for motor development, posture, and foundational skills. Early physical therapy can have a lasting impact on growth and independence.

Our infant and toddler therapy focuses on:
  • Torticollis and plagiocephaly (head shape and neck tightness)

  • Prematurity-related developmental delays

  • Gross motor milestones (rolling, crawling, sitting, standing, walking)

  • Oral motor and feeding difficulties (tongue/lip ties, reflux, shallow latch, oral weakness)

  • Muscle tightness, weakness, or asymmetry

  • Hypotonia or hypertonia

We emphasize caregiver education and home programming, ensuring families feel confident continuing exercises and positioning strategies at home.

As children grow, their physical needs change. Therapy at this stage supports school participation, sports, and daily activities while addressing orthopedic, neurological, and developmental challenges.

We commonly treat:
Orthopedic concerns: toe walking, gait abnormalities, flat feet, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation
Neurological diagnoses: cerebral palsy, developmental coordination disorder, muscular dystrophy, genetic syndromes
Gross motor delays and coordination challenges impacting playground or classroom participation
Posture and strength limitations contributing to pain or fatigue
Core and hip weakness leading to knee or shin pain
Injury prevention and return-to-sport training

Therapy sessions combine play-based activities, strengthening exercises, and functional skill training, while keeping children motivated and engaged.

OUR APPROACH

  • Play-Based Therapy: Movement and play are central to how children learn best.

  • Family-Centered Care: Caregivers are always included with strategies for home.

  • Collaborative Support: We coordinate with feeding therapists, occupational therapists, and medical providers to care for the whole child.

  • Individualized Plans: Each child’s therapy program is tailored to their unique needs and goals.

At Lori Kilpatrick Pediatric Therapy, we provide compassionate, evidence-based care from the newborn stage through adolescence, supporting children every step of the way.
